We live in motion! So whatever the occasion, capturing your moment on video will help you re-live it. Recently, I had a family shoot with Dubai blogger and founder of the fashionprocess.com, Mona Valeriya and her beautiful daughter Lera Valeriya.
A family video makes a beautiful keepsake. I love capturing the beauty and personalities of my clients. As an artist, my job is to document a small moment in time that nothing else including photos could ever replace.
Location, Location, Location
The shoot took place in one of the oldest and most popular parks in Dubai, Al Safa Park. This urban park is famous due to its panoramic view of the famous landmark, the Burj Khalifa. The first things I noticed at the park were first, the beautifully coloured flower beds and second, the large variety in trees! It was hard to choose which one I wanted to shoot next to. Apparently there are ‘more than 16,000 varieties of trees and bushes’ at the park. Well…you learn something new everyday. Safa Park is a great location for families from all walks of life, Theres a small admission fee to enter but, it’s worth it.
Oh ho ho it's Magic!
I absolutely love shooting outdoors on a beautiful sunny day! For me, controlling outdoor lighting is more enjoyable than working in a studio environment especially during the ‘magic hour’. The ‘magic hour’ also known as the 'golden hour' is a term renowned among photographers. This is the hour after sunrise and the hour before sunset, which can be longer or shorter depending on where you live in the world. The daylight is warmer and softer than when the sun is higher in the sky, which means no squinting for my clients!
Take a look at the short video I made:
At the end of the shoot we had a photography session. Mona and Lera were very easy to photograph. They were both photogenic and responded well to the camera. I was also pleasantly surprised by how easy it was shooting three years old Lera, she was so well behaved and adapted quickly to my direction.
Below are a variety of photographs from the shoot:
